GEORGIA — Authorities say a Georgia homeowner will not face criminal charges after he fatally shot three masked teenagers who allegedly attempted to force their way into his residence before sunrise.
The decision has stirred strong emotions within the community, with families of the teens demanding justice while investigators maintain the evidence clearly supports self-defense.
Early-Morning Incident Turns Deadly
According to the sheriff’s office, the confrontation unfolded around 4 a.m., when three teenage boys—ages 15, 15, and 16—approached the home wearing masks and dark clothing. Detectives say the group intended to carry out an armed robbery.
The homeowner told officials he heard noises outside and saw the masked teens approaching the front door. Moments later, he believed he heard a gunshot coming from the yard.
Investigators later stated:
“Evidence shows at least one suspect fired a weapon toward the house.”
Fearing for his safety, the homeowner armed himself and returned fire.
